Boynton Canyon: Subway Cave
Hiking Trail
Easy
4.66 mi
610 ft
Hike to a spectacular cave in the side of a canyon wall.
The Subway Cave in Boynton Canyon used to be a local secret... but it's a secret no longer. Boynton Canyon is now one of the most popular hikes in all of Sedona, primarily due to the Subway Cave. The side trek to the cave adds some slightly more technical terrain than the main trail, but it's frequently done in order to reach this stunning subway-style cave.
Aside from the scramble up to the cave, the rest of the trek is fairly flat and non-technical. The walking is easy, and the views are absolutely stunning! It's no wonder that this trail attracts so many hikers—it truly is a phenomenally beautiful area.
