I'm retrospect, I wish I had listened to Illmatic during this workout. 

4 x 20 sec hill strides to get in the mood. 
4 x Follensbee hill going from about 5 min to just under 4 min - starting at or a little below threshold and working up to 5k effort or maybe a little harder. 
4 x 1 min hard on the steepest section of the hill. 

Had a bottle with about 40g carbs mostly during the workout, having had a big second breakfast and lots of snacks going into it.

Didn't want to go too overboard, since I got only a little over 4 broken hours of sleep, but made sure it was pretty hard, just not crazy long.

Trail shoes helped with the peanut butter road surface. I forgot how peppy the original Torrent feels.
