Crossed the Silverton train tracks in the morning and the view from them was amazing! I forgot to buy one dinner so I stopped at the Molas Lake general store to grab one. All I could find was a frozen burrito 😂


Saw a storm off in the distance after the pass so I stopped and watched it for lunch. Seemed like it was going to miss me, but then an hour later it socked in the little canyon I was in. I makeshifted a shelter using my tyvek ground sheet and waited for about 40 mins. Lots of rain, hail, and lightning within a quarter mile and one that hurt my ears. Couldnt tell if they were hitting the ground cause I was wrapped in Tyvek. Clouds broke so I moved on but then round 2 came. I set up my tent this time. Seemed like it broke again so I packed up and went with a couple friends a few more miles. Soon fog/low clouds came in and we heard thunder above. A downpour with thunder and lightning started about 30 min before camp. Rained until about 10pm. It was a great day despite the heinous evening.
